Card signed by William Morris, 1st Viscount Nuffield (1877-1963), founder of Morris Motors. Dated January 25th, 1927. Newspaper portrait mounted to card next to signature.
Thin cardboard stock with rounded corners. Card measures 4.5" x 3.5". Removed from larger autograph album, with glue marks to corners on reverse.
From the collection of Captain Peter Johnston-Saint, who worked for many years as an agent collecting on behalf of Sir Henry Wellcome. Part of this was collection originally acquired by Alain Raffin, who sent out cardboard cards for autographs from many famous personages during the interwar era. This collection was purchased at the Sotheby's December 10th, 2019 sale.
