    Description

1939 Zenith balloon tire women's bike. This bike has a New Departure model D coaster brake, the bike rides very well. It was made in Duluth Minnesota for Marshall Wells hardware supply. (At one time they were the largest hardware jobber in the world. They sold everything hardware and assorted other sporting goods item. One of their items shipped all over the world was their Zenith Broom, a straw broom made at their broom factory across the street from their warehouse.)
Their Zenith bikes were sold through many hardware stores and early bicycle stores around the country, they went out of the bicycle business in the 1950s dues to competition from all the start-up post war american bike companies.
This is a real Quality bike with advanced features on the frame for attaching the fenders & built-in kick stand mount.
This now has a replacement saddle by Mesinger with a one piece vinyl cover and two coil springs on the rear.
tires hold air and are ridable but they are old with cracking tread over good solid casings.
The bike has the "skip tooth" one inch pitch chain in remarkably good condition.
one spoke has been replaced on the rear wheel and a set of 35 spokes is included to replace the remained of spokes.
