Description:
This NASA engineer and photographer served on the MSC-Lunar Receiving Lab Decontamination Team, and after Apollo 11 returned gained fame when he accidentally became the first person to touch lunar dust while handling a film canister.
Signed First Day Cover, 6½" X 3½", cancelled in Washington, DC on 1969 September 6 (also bears second cancellation from "Moon Landing" dated 1969 July 20) and with "First Day of Issue" boldly stamped Single 10-cent "First Man on the Moon" stamp at upper right. Fine. Boldly signed in black ballpoint near the center: "Terry N. Slezak / 'First man to touch lunar soil.'" Quite choice.
