Few fish are as charming and fascinating as the Seahorse, most particularly with regard to their family life. They are practically unique in nature in that it is the male that carries the eggs (in a pouch) until they are ready to emerge as almost perfect miniature seahorses,
The Seahorse is molded from Pellucida, a resin compound developed by the artist that resembles Bisque porcelain, but is more durable. It is then delicately airbrushed.
The seahorse is about 5 inches long. Mounted on a polished burlwood base, the piece stands about 7 inches tall.
