    , has been affixed. At lower left margin, an article form the Saturday, March 15, 1980 edition of "The Daily Telegraph" has been affixed. The article is
    headed:

    Baker published
    Famous Trees of Bible Lands
    in 1974, the year after he wrote this letter. He was working on his 31st book when he died in Canada while on a worldwide tour to promote environmental issues. British forester, environmentalist and author
    Richard St. Barbe Baker (1889-1982) is
    best known for founding Men of the Trees
    (1922), an organization that grew to international proportions and led to conservation efforts, including the planting of thousands of trees, in 108 countries. Baker,
    one of the first to draw attention to the the crisis of deforestation
    , also conceived the concept of the
    Civilian Conservation Corps
    for President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and he was well known for his
    efforts to reclaim the Sahara Desert
    through tree planting. Baker's efforts spanned the globe, beginning in Kenya shortly after the end of WWI. Baker later spread his message of conservation in Palestine, the U.S., Canada, Australia and Europe, tireless promoting his concept of an
    international Green Front
    . Letter is lightly creased, rippled from mounting. Minor show through of writing on verso at tree logo at left margin. Mounting sheet is lightly creased. Ink notes (unknown hand) at upper right corner above letter and at end of book review. Overall, fine and interesting.
