Heisenberg, Werner (1901-1976) - Typed letter signedGerman theoretical physicist and one of the key pioneers of quantum mechanics. Heisenberg was awarded the 1932 Nobel Prize in Physics "for the creation of quantum mechanics”.
Typed letter signed “Heisenberg”. 1p., 8.25 x 5.75 inch, Göttingen, 1952 July 2. On Max-Planck-Institut für Physik Prof. W. Heisenberg stationery, signed in dark black ink. Addressed to Leonhardt Fischer in Göttingen regarding a meeting. In German, in full: “Lieber Herr Fischer!
Da ich in dieser Woche noch einmal verreisen muß, möchte ich Sie bitten, etwa am Montag oder Dienstag vormittags hier im Institut anzurufen (Tel.: 3653), damit wir eine Zusammenkunft vereinbaren.“
Translated: “Dear Mr. Fischer! Since I have to travel again this week, I would like to ask you to call here at the institute on Monday or Tuesday morning (Tel.: 3653) that we can arrange a meeting." Mailing fold, else fine condition.
