    Description

Guglielmo Marconi [1874 1937] was an Italian inventor and electrical engineer known for his pioneering work on long-distance radio transmission and for his development of Marconi's law and a radio telegraph system. Marconi is often credited as the inventor of radio and he shared the 1909 Nobel Prize in Physics in recognition for his contributions to the development of wireless telegraphy. Marconi was a entrepreneur, businessman, and the founder of The Wireless Telegraph & Signal Company in the United Kingdom in 1897, which later became the Marconi Company. He also succeeded in making a commercial success of radio by innovating and building on the work of previous experimenters and physicists and in 1929 he was ennobled by the King of Italy. Listed for auction is a stunning display which contains the autograph of Guglielmo Marconi signed on a album page. The autograph is signed '' With all good wishes Guglielmo Marconi'' and dated ''Rome 1933'' in black fountain pen. The album page measures 6.00 x 9.50 inches and is in fine condition. The display has been centered around a wonderful image of Marconi at work on one of his inventions. The photograph is a b/w and measures 7.00 x 5.00 inches. Mounted below is the autograph as described above and below the autograph is a professionally engraved plaque which reads as follows, ''Guglielmo Marconi April 25, 1874 - July 20, 1937. Italian inventor and engineer Marconi developed, demonstrated and marketed the first successful long distance wireless telegraph and in 1901 broadcast the first transatlantic radio signal. In 1909 he shared the Nobel Prize in Physics for his radio work. The display has been professionally doubled matted and assembled as follows. The outer matte is brown/black and has been accented with a black inner matte and the display has been assembled in a ornate silver/grey and black wood frame to the dimensions of 17.00 x 13.00 inches. Sellers note...The frame has a small bruise on the top left corner on the ''back tip'' of the frame. Please note it is on the ''back tip'' of the frame and is not noticeable when mounted on the wall.  And yes, I did it 20 minutes after I returned from the frame shop. Again you can not notice it when mounted. The autograph is a desirable authentic example, boldly signed and dated and is a outstanding example of this prominent  inventor and engineer and the display is completed in all quality materials and is stunning. Absolutely no disappointments with this display or simply return plus we provide ''Free'' shipping in the U.S. We have listed a nice collection of autographs including, military, aviation and astronaut autographs.
