Description
This is an authentic 1932 bank check (see picture) signed by famous submarine inventor SIMON LAKE. Simon Lake obtained over 200 patents during his career for advances in naval design, and he built "The Argonaut Junior" submarine in 1894. He founded the Lake Torpedo Boat Company in 1912, and his company build 24 submarines for the U. S. Navy during and after World War I. Lake lived in Milford, Connecticut from 1907 until his death in 1945. The "USS Simon Lake", commissioned in his memory by the U. S. Navy, was in service from 1964 through 1999. This check is clean and intact, exhibiting normal bank marks, creases, and cancellations. It would make a wonderful addition to your own collection, or it would make a great gift for that Simon Lake enthusiast, submarine historian, or vintage autograph collector in your life! Postage is .75. And, of course I'll combine postage on multiple purchases. Sorry, NO international shipping. Be sure to check the other items in my eBay store, too!
