    Seven-Eighths Inch Celluloid Political Pin " Washburn For U.S. Senate ". Robert M. Washburn had served in the Massachusetts house of representatives and state senate. He was a supporter of Teddy Roosevelt in 1912. In 1934, he was the Republican nominee for the United States Senate, but lost to incumbent Democrat David Walsh. Six years earlier, Walsh had sought the seat, but dropped out before the primary and endorsed Butler Ames, the grandson of Benjamin Butler. Ames lost to former Massachusetts Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Young. Young went on to lose to David Walsh as well. Button is in very good condition. Buyer will pay for shipping.
